THE PARENTHESIS

The Forest of the Giants

About sixty specimens of larch pines and maples that reach heights of up to 45 meters, with trunks 2 meters wide and 350 years of history. The nature reserve of Giganti della Sila, inside the Sila National Park, is a natural reserve protected by the FAI and constitutes the last testimony of the ancient Silan landscape: high fronds and majestic trunks guard a historical and natural heritage, which originated in the seventeenth century and continues to this day.

The highest vineyard in Europe

At about 1300 meters of altitude, a rare example of heroic viticulture stands out, which has earned the name of the Highest Vineyard in Europe. Surrounded by a forest of larch pines, the vineyard looks towards Lake Cecita and is distinguished by the vigor with which the vines manage to grow luxuriantly, thanks to a particular microclimate given by the influence of the surrounding vegetation.

High-altitude Harvest

Walking in the quiet and silence of the woods you will closely observe the solemn guardians of the history and biodiversity of the Plateau. Accompanied by an expert AIGAE guide, you will discover the most hidden corners of this fascinating land, with a particular focus on faunal bioindicators, such as birds. Your path will continue up to 1300 meters of altitude, to the vineyard of the Immacolata Pedace farm, where you will participate in the harvest. You will conclude the experience with a food and wine tasting.
