The Museum of Ceramics in Grottaglie attests to the evolution and centrality of this art in the life and in the economy of the region since ancient times. You will be able to admire a rich collection that is developed from the eighth century to the present day: from the archaeological section to the traditional ceramics, passing through finely decorated majolica, up to the contemporary ceramics.

In the charming Ceramics District of Grottaglie, the center of the local craftsmanship that houses numerous shops, you will discover “Casa Vestita”, a unique place for the cultural traditions of the city: a historic residence that, in addition to a collection of ceramics and a Mediterranean garden, houses the remains of a medieval rock church, with ancient wall-paintings still visible, of extraordinary historical and artistic value.

After playing the host, the ceramic master Mimmo Vestita will welcome you to the workshop to guide you in the creation of your cown eramic artifact. At the end of the workshop once dried, your creations will be ready to be shipped to your home.

Terracotta is also the protagonist on the table: at the end of the pottery laboratory, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner based on local products, according to the recipes that include doing the cooking directly in terracotta containers, a preparation that gives the dishes a very unique taste.
